THE BEGINNING
She fell in love with the
invisible world first.
Jennifer grew up in Mumbai with Malayali roots — schooled through 10th grade in the city before her family moved to Bahrain, where she completed her 11th and 12th. In 2013, she returned to Mumbai to pursue a BSc in Microbiology and Chemistry at Sophia College for Women.
She wasn't the student memorising genus names. She was drawn to the extraordinary colour, texture, and form that exists just beyond what the naked eye can see — the way small, invisible things carry enormous power. That instinct never left her. It just found a different canvas.
"I was never the nerd memorising complicated names. I was the one mesmerised by the colours under the microscope — the textures, the shapes, the quiet power of things that look ordinary but aren't."
-Jennifer Peter
By her internship she knew: she loved watching this world, but couldn't see herself working inside it forever. She needed people, movement, and something that challenged her in a different way. In 2015, she stepped into her father's business — Controls and Process Automation Services, handling clients from the Middle East — and discovered, quickly, what stability without stimulation feels like. She stayed long enough to understand what she was looking for. Then she went to find it.
WHAT WE WORK ON
Until 2013 · Mumbai and Bahrain
School years — 10th in Mumbai, 11th and 12th in Bahrain
A childhood split between two countries. Developed early the ability to move between worlds — and to observe how differently people dress in each of them.
2013 · Sophia College for Women, Mumbai
BSc Microbiology and Chemistry
Drawn to colour, texture, and the invisible world. Realised the lab was not her stage — but the curiosity and rigour it built never left her approach to anything.
2015 · Mumbai
Controls and Process Automation Services
Joined her father in building a business serving clients in the Middle East. Safe and stable — and a clear signal of what she was not built for. Left with clarity.

Trend forecasting, style history, and analysis. Her eye — already sharp — got its formal vocabulary.
2020–2021 · Bangalore lockdown
The styling career begins on set
Her NIFT guest faculty noticed her project and invited her to assist on set. Said yes to everything — editorial, commercial, concept shoots, menswear, womenswear, kidswear, pre- and post-production. By graduation, she had a real career.
2021 · Graduated · Cinnamon Closet

Styling, design, wardrobe curation
Across the years — styling gigs for brands, photographers, and production houses. Freelance design for emerging labels. Personal wardrobe curations and styling consultations that eventually became Fashion Therapy.
THE BEGINNING
She grew up being told that the way you dress says something about your character. She never accepted that framing.
The pandemic theme parties
When the world went indoors, Jennifer threw dress-up parties to coax everyone — her entire circle, of all genders and ages — back into the joy of getting dressed. People who came reluctantly started to flourish. The costume became a gateway.
A wardrobe that was a community
Weddings, events, theme nights, special occasions — anyone who needed something came to Jennifer. Her wardrobe served as a library, and the act of dressing for something became an act of connection.
Jennifer understood early what too few people say out loud: clothes are not a statement about who you are trying to impress. They are a language you speak to yourself first — a form of art, a daily act of self-definition.
She grew up in a society that applied that pressure particularly to women and girls. She found it unconvincing. She dressed — then and now — not to look a certain way, but to feel a certain way. To try something. To be present, on her own terms.
"I was never the nerd memorising complicated names. I was the one mesmerised by the colours under the microscope — the textures, the shapes, the quiet power of things that look ordinary but aren't."
-Jennifer Peter
Conversations that went deeper
Jennifer had always loved long conversations — with people of every age, background, and disposition. When people changed what they wore, the conversations changed too. Something shifted. That observation became her purpose.
Her wardrobe was open to every friend who needed something for a wedding, an event, a moment that mattered. She was the person everyone called. That generosity — and the conversations that grew out of it — was the first form of Fashion Therapy, before it had a name.
A side hustle becomes a calling
Helping friends style their looks for occasions became styling consultations and wardrobe curations for clients of all kinds. She now pursues it full time — the one thing she can get up every morning to do.
THE WORLD THAT SHAPED HER EYE
She didn't just travel. She paid attention.
Every city Jennifer has lived in or visited has added a layer — a new colour story, a different silhouette sensibility, a deeper understanding of how people use clothing to tell the world who they are.
Five cities, five perspectives
Mumbai, Bahrain, Bangalore, London, Delhi — each with its own visual culture, its own relationship between clothing and identity. Jennifer has lived inside all of them, and brings all of them to her work.
Twelve countries, one consistent lesson
Vietnam, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Rome, Berlin, Prague, Switzerland, Austria — every destination deepened her understanding of the relationship between clothing, culture, and the self.

THE CAREER
Jennifer brings to every engagement a depth of experience that most stylists do not have. She has designed clothes at scale. She has led a division. She has worked both sides of the camera — as the person who creates garments, and as the stylist who understands precisely how they land on a person.
She has styled for editorial campaigns, commercial shoots, and concept productions. She has freelanced for emerging brands across categories. She has curated wardrobes for clients of all backgrounds, genders, and life stages.
All of it feeds into how she works today — with an eye that is both analytical and deeply personal, both structured and responsive to who is in front of her.
A decade across science, design, production, and styling.

HOW FASHION THERAPY WAS BORN
It started with a dress-up party.
It became something far more significant.
During the pandemic — stuck in Bangalore while her parents were in Bahrain — Jennifer did what she has always done: she brought people together. She threw theme parties to drag her circle out of their pyjamas and back into the joy of getting dressed. Everyone, all genders, all ages, all levels of willingness.
Some came reluctantly. All of them came back. The ritual of dressing up unlocked something. People who had spent months invisible to themselves started to remember who they were — and then started to explore who they could become.
"What I noticed was this: when people changed how they dressed, the conversations we had changed too. Something shifted in how they saw themselves. That observation became everything."
— Jennifer
The theme parties became a ritual. The conversations became consultations. The side hustle became a calling — and then a full-time practice built around one conviction: that dressing well is not vanity. It is one of the most direct and democratic routes to feeling like yourself.
WHAT JENNIFER BELIEVES
Three convictions that sit beneath every consultation.
These are not styling rules. They are the things Jennifer knows to be true — for every client, regardless of gender, age, or where they are starting from.
Clothes are not the point. You are.
01
Mumbai, Bahrain, Bangalore, London, Delhi — each with its own visual culture, its own relationship between clothing and identity. Jennifer has lived inside all of them, and brings all of them to her work.
Dressing is a daily act of self-respect.
02
The way you present yourself every morning is a small, powerful decision. Made well, it sets the tone for everything that follows — meetings, first impressions, your own mood. Jennifer helps you make it without thinking twice.
Joy is not a luxury. It is the standard.
03
Fashion Therapy was born out of parties — out of people discovering, perhaps for the first time, that dressing up was allowed to be fun. That spirit of play is present in every consultation Jennifer has, at every level.
JENNIFER TODAY
She has found what she
wants to do forever.
Fashion Therapy began as a side conversation — then a side hustle — then a calling so clear she couldn't look away from it. Today, Jennifer works with executives, brides, grooms, public figures, and anyone who is ready to stop dressing for everyone else and start dressing for themselves.
She brings to every engagement a decade of experience across science, design, production, and styling — and a lifetime of believing that the way you present yourself to the world is one of the most honest things about you.
She works with a small number of clients at a time. Every engagement is personal. Nothing is templated. And she works with people of all genders, backgrounds, and life stages — because style is not a category. It is a conversation.
